"Authenticity and Personalization"

«You are proud of your history, of your personal and professional career, you appreciate the art de vivre and the French luxury, you would like to have unique objects bearing a strong identity: your own, then adopt an 800 year-old tradition by wearing coats of arms and emblems offered by Maison Grünthaler, to leave your mark in history. "

Our Story

In 1877, Nicolas Grünthaler founded his watchmaking and goldsmith shop in Lyon. Joined by his six sons, they developed jewellery, art objects, chandeliers and marble works, which turned Maison Grunthaler into the most prestigious address in Lyon since 1910.

In 2017, Christophe Grünthaler, the great-great-grandson, decided to revive this heritage savoir-faire and to modernise it. He continued to strive for what made Maison Grünthaler successful and celebrated by adding a highly traditional and symbolic element: the heraldic art through coats of arms and crests.

Artistic Project

Between "sculpture and excessiveness"

“I take the historical background of the signet ring and divert it from its primary function. The jewel becomes a work of art, testifying to the richness of a life. Engraved on a prestigious symbol, your unique story, represented through the coat of arms, becomes the theme of the sculpture”.

Between "sculpture and excessiveness", Christophe Grünthaler defined these two words as the essence of his artistic universe. His original, timeless works of art, which marries tradition with modernity, comes through different expressions such as desecrating the signet rings through creations inspired by street art.
